MY FINAL PROJECT

Hello- For my final project I chose to do 3 fonts that are brand new. For the first one I made a alphabet with snow caped letters using a large stencil and paint markers, for my second I made a toxix drip theme alphabet, and the third I made a blood dripped alphabet using a small stencil and smaller paint markers, I really like it and hope you do to!

La Meridian

This was first time I had ever visited an Art Hotel. Honestly more modern than I expected. I thought it was going to look drab and ancient. I actually kinda/sorta fell in love with the art, and the feel of La Meridian. I mean where else can you go where there is a severed bulls head on display, behind the check in window, and old school cigarette machines that dispense small pieces of artwork instead of crap sticks of nicotine. The Rock-star suite was pretty cool, I got a strong sence of rock-star when I entered, I felt the presence of Nikki-Six or maybe it was the lead singer of  Soul Asylum…Just foolin.. but I am sure some heavy Hittin Artists stayed in that room. I really liked the bathroom and the banana shaped tub. There were so many pieces I liked at La Meridian, from the graffiti stair case, to the Old man’s head just inside the front door, or the Wall of Color Crayons and Markers, that blew my mind….so much color, but If I would have to pick one it would be….A painting from Marchiko Edmondson. His work is extra-ordinary. At first I thought I was looking at a photo of a pretty girl with bright bountiful eyes, that I honestly could stare at forever..But to my amazement this realistic beautiful, sexy women was an in fact a painting……….A PAINTING….incredible. In all I rather enjoyed my time at the art hotel, I’m planning a heist of the Marchiko piece, so if anybody wants in lemme know…..Totally Awesome.

My 3 Foshay Towers

I went for the Andy Warhol theme. I like It! It turned out nice. I also went with a Halloween theme for one of them. I like that the Foshay Was built in 1929 so I threw that in there.......Enjoy.:)

I think of my installations as unfinished inventories of fragments: objects, drawings, paintings, photographs, and other inventions. They are improvisational sites in which the constructed and the ready-made are used to question our
making of the world through language and knowledge. My arrangements are schematic, inviting the viewer to move into a space of speculation. I rely on our desires for beauty, poetics and seduction.
The work thus far has used the frame of the museum to propose a secret history of modernity, and in the process, point to stereotypes of difference, which are hidden in plain sight. I have found the histories of surrealism and minimalism to be useful in the rearranging of received ideas. The objects I make are placed in the canon of modernist art, in hopes of making visible what is overlooked in the historicizing of the artist. This project has always been grounded in pleasure and aesthetics

I dont know if I found this statement (profounding), but after looking for hours online for Great Artistic Statements, I choose this one because I found it most similar/appealing to the way I think about Art. He's an inventor, so am I, and I find that very cool. I also appreciate the fact that his statemant makes me belive he is a true beliver in beautifull art. Its my belife that it is very easy to paint/draw/sculpt evil and ugly (morbid) pieces of art, WHATS TUFF is making the timeless, classic, works of perscion that will be the the stuff in a thousand years people will look at and say Amazing!

My movie Poster

This is the movie poster I created. I had troulbe copying images of the internet, so I built this in Powerpoint. I found images of a wolf and dark sky. I blended them together and incorperated actor's names and a quote from New York Times. I also changed the font to fit my poster, as well as color for the creator Wes Craven.

Movie Poster I did not care for

I hate this poster. It make us as minnesotans look like boring old lifeless people that cant function in the deep cold winters we have up here in the north tundra. I dont like the colors or the fact that this looks knitted. The knitting job dosent even look that good, my grandma would shreek and pass out from crappieness of this. Anyway I hated this movie, I think most Minnesotans hated this movie, and it does nothin for me.

Movie Poster:

I like this poster very much. The Goonies movie is a classic. I like the artwork and colors. Everytime I see this poster I get a good feeling like nap time with chocolate milk and gram-crackers. This poster has everything in it. Its got all the main characters and A good sence of adventure.

About me:

I enjoy fishin, watching baseball, and hanging with good people. I enjoy art and I did well with it in high school. Im a high school grad. of Champlin Park high school, where my GPA was 3.75. Ive been out of school a couple years. I have been in the construction field for sevral years, but about two years back work started getting hard to find. This is my second year at A.R. and for the most part I've really liked this school, the people in it and the teachers who teach. I wanted to go into the art field since I was a child, but after much internal debate Ive come to the conclusion that I most likely wont find work in this field. Now Im on pace to become a Bio-Med. Lab. Tech. This picture I found moved me. I like the colors and it reminds me of a picture i drew in high school. I like the artist style and use of movement.
